In April 2020, I led a small very talented team at IDEO to create an online multiplayer 3D world for gatherings/festivals called Dot Fest (.FEST). No download, no app, no console, no enemies. Just a cool and accessible web URL. Anyone can join from smartphone or computer. We had a big IDEO-only party in the world that connected all the studios globally, which was a welcomed departure from Zoom-meetings. We even had a live-stream perfomances from IDEO DJ, Jason Faker. Surely, you will see the video-head-stream concept used by others in the near future. Was super fun! Planning to explore more open world web experiences in the future!
